Based in Paris, France, Gérard Langella is a music producer and remixer well known as Mr Untel, Doc gee, Yul, Loving Paris. His career starts in the 80s as music Composer and Sound Designer for numerous French and International artists (Precious Wilson, Sister Queen, Marcia Johnson, Wah Wah Watson…). Since then he has been producing, composing and releasing on his own label Elliot Music various Electronic, House Latin and Lounge music. Mr.Untel’s first album “From coast to coast” was produced by G. Langella and co-writen by Didier Crémieux (designer artist based in New York) who originally constituted the band. The lounge/down-tempo style in these albums is a successful mix of French pop touch, Latin tempos and 70’s pop, blended with current-day acoustics and electronic sounds production. They were conceived somewhere between New-York and Paris, bars, cafes, hotels, and airports using virtual instruments and samplers when the inspiration was coming. This album also features a collaboration with SS7X7.com and provides remixing software (the interactive beatboxmixer) that allows the user to re-play, re-mix and re-record the tracks by manipulating the individual elements of the tracks, introducing a brand new way to interact within Mr. Untel’s world.

In 2002 Mr Untel produces “Les remixes de Mr. Untel – Jacques Tati” based on the original soundtrack of one of the french film maker icon Jacques Tati. This album was originally released in France by Naive and got exposure in Japan, USA, Russia, Spain, Italy… It was associated with the 2nd release of “Play Time” movie (one of the biggest Jacques Tati’s movie), a classic french cinema classic. In 2003, Mr. Untel begins to perform live as a Dj for foreign clubs. In addition, he appears as a sound designer for official or special events (Yokohama French Movie festival, La Fabrique in Tokyo, Givenchy ®, French Embassy in Moscow, Emotion/ Publicis Events parties in China, Thailand, Singapore… He then produced numerous electronic lounge albums in 2005 “Amazing & Lounge Area with Didier Crémieux. From there mr untel took again a new direction and went into new collaboration for the album Spanish Lounge &, High Life) that were inspired by latin Flamenco style, down-tempo, orchestral lounge and electronic music. In 2006 Mr Untel produces, writes with vocalists and song writers or musicians as well as produces work and remixes for various artists like Jean Marie K, Wah Wah Watson, Michaux. With “Made in Paris” project album, he takes a new direction as this new Pop-orientated experience includes some nice & sexy Bossa Nova up to Urban Soul or Jazz songs with a so special French Electronic Touch and specially composed for the voice and words of the charming swedish vocalist Hanna H.


The album was released in August 2007 in digital format and the CD album was released in Japan with Rambling Records label. 2006 was the year of The “Spanish Lounge” album dedicated to the love of the flamenco guitar with “El Mati”. With this LP Mr. Untel experiments the subtle language of Latin music with creative touch of Electro. The spiritual El Mati Flamenco guitar gives the final touch to a great album. In the mean time Mr. Untel, as a DJ/Producer creates various dj sets for his partners. He plays elegant & joyful Latin house music mixed up with his original productions as well as gorgeous Lounge set. Mr. Untel production is present in numerous established Lounge music compilations around the world like Buddha Bar. His music is played by respected Dj’s like Bruno (Café del mar Ibiza) or Kruder & Dorfmeister (Austria).


In the meantime, Mr. Untel produced, played and composed «Do It Right» in collaboration with Wah Wah Watson, released in France as a 12″ inch vinyl and Digital download album «Cybermix experience». It includes groovy, funk house sounds with Wah Wah Guitar magic guitar. With the gorgeous melodic voice of Mc CullyLately, Mr. Untel creates specific design and synch for televisions, radio programs, advertising agencies and records company clients including Universal, Platinum Rye (New York), Agent Sixteen (New York), Paris Première (French channel TV). He is sought to create entire events sound design in collaboration with Emotion/Publicis Events Asia for various private clients such as Givenchy® or Martell® or Chivas® in Singapour, Bangkok, Benjhi, Shanghaï and Tokyo. In 2008, a new collaborative project with Velvet Work starts, a perfect blend of house-music, electronica and elegant pop. «Funky Fairy» evokes dancefloor fun while “You take your time” will reminds you of your sweetest dreams. Another important collaboration leading to the band “The Maggoos” is The duet ˜Mr. Untel and Chicca˜ with the spicy boogaloo Italian vocalist. All songs written and composed by Mr. Untel are designed to create a refreshing and surprising happy atmosphere inspired by Pop tunes, with a Soul attitude mixed with the Yeh Yeh 60’s dynamic music style. The album «Qui etes-vous ?» was released in Japan by Rambling Records.


2009 and 2010 are also busy years as Mr. Untel presents 6 new albums : Soirée MondaineSpanish lounge 2” (The new volume of Electro and Flamenco music) – “Electro swamp melodies” A road movies in the American Bayou produced with Didier Cremieux. And then “60′s Psyche pop album” The awaited Yéyé /60′s party sound – “A summer’s day” featuring Hanna H, Nu bossa and Jazz. ”House session @ 4elements Paris” featuring Doc Gee and Jean Marie K.


In 2011, Musical Library work is realized for Universal Music publishing, as well as Sister Queen Remixes and Dead Man Suit production and Album mix. 2012 is dedicated to “Luxe so chic” inspired by the sensual sign of Paris while Doc Gee and Honey (Electro House EP) release “WAAK”, a Techno/Minimal album supported by live performances on Crash Tune recording,Jay records. Sound Design is realized for Beatrice ArdissonBohémes” as the compilation for the acclaimed exhibition at Le Grand Palais in Paris. Finally, “Electro Gypsy Groove ” is an album dedicated to Gyspsy music. In 2013, new releases includes “Going South” and “Retro Novo”. Albums of the Year 2014 are “Brasileiro“, “Slow Motion” & “The smooth lounge album”, “Soundtrack”.
