Queen_Sister_500Back in 1995, the smash hit by Sister Queen “Let me be a Drag Queen” made the nightclubbers dance all Europe. If the Drag Queen movement started strong in the United States in the nightlife and fashion world, France soon followed up with the “Drag Fashion” made worldwide famous by the movie “The adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the desert”. The two members of the Sister Queen group were exactly in line with it as Tonya was performer at Banana Café Paris one of the promoting voices on Radio FG, and Yazz model for Vivian Westwood ® and J.P. Gaultier ®. Gently decadent fashion, gay attitude and dance music melted together perfectly led to this provocative, funny and happily crazy band noticed for its partying lyrics and provocative slogans. With their extravagant dress and frenzied make-up, these “mans” claim a double personality they express throughout crazy nights on the dance floor, all dressed up with their feather boas, delirious wigs and gigantic platform shoes. The underlying idea is to use the genre codes to play on felinity without going as far as body transformation; Having fun, being sexy and glamour, but always with imagination and exuberance! The hits “Let me be a drag Queen”, “Saturday every man a Queen” and “Cyber Queen” stem from the successful collaboration of these two “sisters”, queens of the parisian nights, and Elliot Music and Marie-christine Maillet. These famous singles inspired several renown DJs such as Junior Vasquez and Looney Choons some hit remixes that gained recognition both all over Europe, in Ibiza and in the United States, as some of them topped DJ rankings. Gerard Langella and Marie-christine Maillet added up to the band momentum with other successes as  “A girl, a boy”,  “Drag Stripper”,  “Safe sex” and  “Virtual Love”. They were ultimately gathered in one format under the name “The Album” by Elliot Music productions. “The album” is an original blend of fun and spicy lyrics, sometimes real-life drag-queen stories, on a sweet bed of disco-chic and club house music. Released in digital version in 2007, the opus enjoyed export success in Japan, USA, Netherlands, Latin America and Russia. Spring 2011 is another step for the band as their most famous hit from 1995 were remixed by some of the most talented French DJs such as Antonio de Jesus, Gianni Kosta, Chuck Level and Doc Gee. Clearly Dance Floor oriented, this brand new collection of digital remixes is available on major web stores. The cover of the digital EP “Let me be a Drag Queen Remixes 2011” was realized by Klaus Roethlisberger and a new video clip was shot by friends and fans from all over the world, performing their own personal version of “Let me be a Drag Queen” to deliver a message of Tolerance and Pride that celebrates the reconciliation of all generations. Tonya and Yazz were also back on stage with an amazing new show “Hot and Sexy” specially designed for Extravaganza, featuring a totally surprising new look. Their artistic performance in selected Clubbing venues and TV shows appearances and radio interviews were full noticed for their humor, bringing Drag Queen parties in the summer tune again!
